The Kitchen Restaurant is laid out over three floors and housed in a modern, architect designed building located on the banks of the River Ness. We are an independent family run restaurant and we aim to deliver excellent Scottish produce and friendly highland service. We look forward to welcoming locals and visitors to the restaurant.

Booking and cancellation policy

The Kitchen Restaurant is a small independent run business and we really appreciate every guest who dines with us.

Due to the number of no shows and late cancellations we have received over the last two years; we have made the decision to implement a cancellation policy. Unfortunately this is necessary as no shows greatly impact the business .

When booking online via Quandoo you will have to read and accept our cancellation policy before your booking is confirmed.

Card details are secured safely by Quandoo and only charged if we do not receive 24 hours’ notice to cancel or a failure to show up. You will receive confirmation and reminder emails from Quandoo. You can cancel via Quandoo, email us or call us before the notice period.

We do respect that some customers may not want to agree to this policy and therefore guests are free to turn up on the night to see if we have tables available (we do always recommend to book as it gets very busy in the summer months).

Your booking will automatically incur a cancellation fee that is noted when confirming the booking if we do not receive 24 hours’ notice of cancellation or failure to show up.

    We came here because it was close to our air bnb and boy did we luck out. I was nervous because it looked empty but actually they have 3 floors. We ended up sitting on the 3rd with an amazing view of the castle and river. The building was probably built to highlight this because it was awesome.

    The food was top notch as well. My favorite was the pea and ham soup which was amazing with delicious Smokey flavors.

    We really appreciate how good the food is and how friendly the staff are. The dishes are beautifully displayed and extremely delicious. We told the waiter to express our gratitude to the chef as well. I definitely recommend this all restaurant and hope their rating will increase soon and let more people to know them. We three goer 3 courses menu. We love each one of them.

    Great food! We had the octopus, pork belly, traditional muscles, Parmesan fries and beef tartare. Everything was amazing, my favorite was the octopus and my husbands favorite was the pork belly. Service was really good and friendly. Highly recommend.

    Exceptional food. Great service. One of those pleasant surprises. We just walked in while visiting from Australia and were blown away. Both the flavours and presentation of the food was excellent. The attention to detail made us feel each dish was prepared by someone who cares. My highlight was the pork belly with Caesar salad. The hero was the interpretation of Caesar salad. My main was venison. Perfectly cooked. We were only doing the two course menu but after the first two courses were so good we went for dessert. We are both glad we did great desserts. Loved it.

    Fantastic views from the second floor. The menu is fantastic if you enjoy high food and a inventive preparation. The rump of lamb with haggis was awesome. The smoked salmon appetizer melts in your mouth. Steamed halibut was done perfectly and it was a nice size piece. The waitstaff is excellent and the kitchen very accommodating to any food sensitivities. You could serve any of this food in a fancier restaurant at 50% more than what you pay here. Definitely the best value in town for amazing food.
